HELICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Inland Screw Piling Ltd. is a leading Alberta-based manufacturer and installer of helical screw pile foundation systems. Based in Coaldale, we provide complete design, manufacturing, and installation services for high-quality screw piling systems and related foundation products across a variety of applications.
JOIN OUR TEAM
We are currently seeking a Helical Design Engineer to join our growing team.
Working closely with our estimating, sales, project management, drafting, and field installation teams, the Design Engineer will analyze geotechnical and structural information, evaluate project requirements, and site conditions, and develop practical, cost-effective helical screw pile foundation solutions.
This is a hands-on engineering position that offers the opportunity to be involved throughout the project lifecycle - from initial estimating and design through installation and field support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the estimating and sales teams to develop project proposals, quotations, and preliminary foundation solutions.
- Review geotechnical reports, structural drawings, site information, and project specifications to determine appropriate foundation requirements.
- Design deep foundation systems, including helical screw pile solutions, in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Provide engineering direction and timely technical support to field installation crews when site conditions or installation challenges arise.
- Attend project sites as required to assess conditions, provide technical guidance, and support successful installations.
- Review and provide guidance on engineering drawings and design work prepared by drafting personnel.
- Work collaboratively with project management, manufacturing, drafting, estimating, and installation teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical or site-related issues throughout the project.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta. Registration in other Canadian provinces would be an asset.
- Experience in foundation engineering and deep foundation design.
- Experience with helical screw pile design is strongly preferred; however, candidates with strong foundation engineering experience and a willingness to develop expertise in helical pile design will be considered.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, L-Pile, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel.
- Practical, solutions-oriented approach to engineering and project challenges.

LOCATION REQUIREMENT
This is an on-site position and does not offer remote work. The successful candidate must reside in the Coaldale/Lethbridge area, be willing to relocate to the area, or be able to commute to Coaldale on a daily basis.
