Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis and Process Improvement
- Partner with stakeholders across departments to understand objectives, gather and prioritize requirements, and map current- and future-state processes.
- Produce business cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans, and facilitate workshops with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support solution selection, testing, user acceptance, rollout, and adoption.
Data, Reporting and Business Intelligence
- Clean, validate, and reconcile data from multiple business systems using SQL, Excel, and Power Query.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and management reports.
- Support reporting standards, data definitions, and data quality controls.
AI and Agentic Automation
- Identify and prioritize use cases for generative AI, AI agents, and workflow automation.
- Design, build, and maintain AI assistants and agents using ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or comparable tools, including prompts, tool definitions, knowledge sources, and human-in-the-loop approvals.
- Connect AI solutions to approved enterprise data and systems through secure connectors, APIs, retrieval, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Test and evaluate solutions for accuracy, security, reliability, cost, and business value, and help set practical governance standards for responsible AI use.
- Train and support employees in using AI tools effectively and safely.
Solution Development and Productionization
- Review, refactor, and harden AI-generated prototypes into maintainable, documented production applications.
- Manage code in Git (GitHub or Azure DevOps) with pull requests and code review, and build automated tests and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy and operate applications on Microsoft Azure or on-premises infrastructure, with Entra ID sign-in, role-based access, and secure secrets management.
- Build integrations with Innotech’s ERP, CPQ, CRM, and SQL databases through APIs, and add logging, monitoring, and LLM usage and cost tracking.
- Run a prototype-to-production review process for AI-built tools, covering security, data access, testing, ownership, and support.
Enterprise Systems
- Support enhancements, integrations, and maintenance of Innotech’s Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) system, Non-Conformance Reporting database, and other enterprise applications, working with vendors and internal teams.
- Prepare documentation, user guides, and training materials, and communicate project status, risks, and decisions to management.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Three to six years of experience in business analysis, business systems, data analytics, or software development, including at least two years of hands-on development.
- Development experience in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript (C#/.NET an asset), including Git, automated testing, and maintaining production code.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs, including JSON, webhooks, OAuth 2.0 and API-key authentication, and secure secrets handling.
- Experience calling LLM APIs such as the Claude API or OpenAI API from code, including tool calling and structured outputs.
- Strong SQL skills (querying, schema design, views, stored procedures) and practical experience with Power BI or a comparable BI tool.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience documenting requirements, process maps, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Demonstrated delivery of at least one AI-enabled solution and at least one application taken from prototype to production.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, sound judgment on data privacy and security, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Assets:
- Microsoft Azure (App Service, Functions, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Entra ID), Docker, and CI/CD with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Web frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, React, or Next.js, or internal-app tools such as Streamlit.
- Building agents with ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude for Enterprise, Claude Code, or agent SDKs, and using AI coding assistants while validating generated code for quality and security.
- Retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and enterprise search.
- Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio, Dataverse).
- Secure coding practices, including the OWASP Top 10 and OWASP guidance for LLM applications.
- ERP, CPQ, or manufacturing systems experience, ideally in a manufacturing or construction-products environment.
Candidate Demonstration:
Shortlisted candidates should be prepared to walk through an AI-enabled solution they have built and to share a code sample or repository. They may also be asked to review an AI-generated prototype and explain what it needs to be production-ready.
Working Conditions:
This position's duties will be performed primarily at Innotech's head office in Langley, British Columbia, under normal office working conditions. Occasional work outside standard hours may be required to support implementations, testing, or system changes.
