Role Description The Custom IC Layout Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This position is responsible for designing and implementing custom IC layouts for photonic and electronic circuits, ensuring that designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements. Day-to-day tasks include translating circuit schematics into optimized layouts, performing layout-versus-schematic (LVS) and design rule checks (DRC), collaborating closely with circuit and device designers, and iterating layouts to meet area, power, and signal integrity targets. The engineer will work with physical verification tools, maintain design documentation and libraries, and support tape-out activities and post-silicon revisions. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration with product, test, and packaging teams to ensure that layout solutions align with overall system goals.
