About Inpho
Inpho is a fast-growing startup, focused on developing cutting-edge optoelectronic solutions for next-generation communications, and photonic systems. Our multidisciplinary team is pushing the boundaries of innovation in integrated photonics and semiconductor packaging.
Inpho’s new class of electro-photonic chips is poised to revolutionize and disrupt the optical interconnect market. Utilizing this new class of chips enables existing optical interconnect systems to be built at much lower cost; new architectures to be deployed that provide significantly higher price/performance; and a whole new generation of higher speed interconnect to be built that to date have been impossible.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to handle the daily movement of our semiconductor products and engineering equipment. This role is responsible for the physical handling of sensitive inventory and equipment, ensuring everything is shipped, received, and tracked correctly. You will be the primary person executing international shipments and maintaining our ERP data, working closely with Engineering, Finance, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Specialized Material Handling & Control
- Sensitive Handling: Execute the safe handling of high-value test equipment and semiconductor materials, including wafers, die, and packaged chips. Ensure strict adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols.
- Engineering Material Tracking: Act as the primary point of contact for Engineering material control, ensuring prototypes and R&D hardware are tracked and available.
- Stockroom Management: Maintain a highly organized, clean, and compliant stockroom. Ensure that all sensitive materials are stored in dry packs, nitrogen cabinets, or specialized carriers as required.
Logistics & Trade Compliance
- Shipping & Receiving: Manage all inbound and outbound shipments (FedEx, DHL, UPS, Freight). Verify incoming materials against packing slips and inspect for any shipping damage to sensitive containers.
- Global Customs: Prepare international shipping documentation (Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists). Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance of high-value semiconductor shipments.
ERP Data & Finance Support
- ERP Transactions: Responsible for real-time data entry in the ERP system. Perform all system receipts, stock transfers, and shipping transactions to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.
- System Implementation: Support the team during ERP implementation phases by assisting with data entry, system testing, and process documentation.
Finance Liaison
- Assist Finance with month-end inventory counts and provide documentation needed for invoice reconciliation and asset tracking.
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or material handling.
- Experience with international shipping and knowledge of Incoterms.
- Prior experience handling semiconductor chips, wafers, or sensitive electronic components, and familiarity with ESD safety standards, and semiconductor packaging (Waffle packs, Gel-paks, Tape & Reel) is a significant asset.
- Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, understanding of BOM management, and cost analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- Working experience with an ERP system (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar). You must be comfortable with high-volume, high-accuracy data entry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and MS Office 365.
- High level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to learn quickly.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle delicate materials with precision and lift/move boxes up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Experience in an early-stage or scaling startup.
- Experience in a high-tech hardware design and manufacturing company (semiconductor, photonics, or electronics assembly).
- Experience implementing or optimizing an ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, Epicor).
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Bilingual (English / French / Mandarin) an asset.
Why Join Inpho?
