JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking an EDI Automation QA Analyst to join a leading courier and logistics client in Mississauga. This is full-time role and a hybrid position requiring onsite attendance 3 days per week.
This role combines hands-on test automation, EDI validation, and end-to-end transaction testing across critical shipping and logistics platforms. The successful candidate will partner closely with development, integration, production support, and business teams to ensure the accurate, timely, and auditable exchange of transaction data between customers, partners, and internal systems.
The ideal candidate will possess strong automation expertise, a solid understanding of EDI standards and acknowledgements, and experience testing high-volume, business-critical integrations in an Agile environment. This individual will play a key role in advancing automation best practices and evolving existing test frameworks to better support EDI and integration testing initiatives.
This is a highly technical QA position focused on automation and integration testing. It is not a UI or web testing role. The successful candidate will divide their time between hands-on testing and developing automation solutions that improve test speed, coverage, quality, and overall delivery efficiency. Experience testing file-based systems, EDI transactions, and enterprise integrations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute QA testing for multiple projects concurrently, focused on file-based workflows and integrations
- Create, manipulate, chain, and validate test files (e.g., generating files, stringing/harnessing files together, and verifying outputs)
- Design and build an automation framework (from scratch and/or improving existing approaches) to accelerate and scale testing
- Use AI-assisted approaches productively to increase throughput (e.g., accelerating repetitive test creation/execution and supporting high-volume QA work)
- Work within the team’s QA and delivery process, including test management and defect tracking
- Collaborate with QA and technical stakeholders to ensure test coverage aligns with requirements and release timelines
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- University or College diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Design, or a related technical discipline.
- 1–3 years of hands‑on QA experience, with strong focus on test automation and integration testing.
- Proven experience testing file-based systems (not only UI or API-only environments)
- Strong test automation expertise with the ability to build and extend automation frameworks
- Python proficiency
- Robot Framework experience (preferred strongly; “Robot + Python” is the current stack)
- Experience with QA workflow/tools: Jira, Zephyr & GitHub
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively to improve speed and scale (beyond basic “one ticket at a time” execution)
- Ability to assess the quality of requirements and user stories (identify gaps/ambiguity before building tests)
NICE TO HAVE
- Proven experience testing EDI and file‑based integrations (e.g., X12 transactions), including acknowledgements and partner onboarding flows.
- Experience with AWS‑based systems, SAP integrations, and EDI platforms is a strong asset.
- Exposure to performance testing (e.g., JMeter) for high‑volume transaction flows is an asset.
Compensation:
$85,000-$95,000/year
