Institut quantique - Université de Sherbrooke

Founded in 2016, he Institut quantique (IQ) at the Université de Sherbrooke brings together global leaders in research and interdisciplinary training in quantum science and technology. IQ is a collaborative environment at the intersection of quantum computing, quantum materials, and quantum engineering, offering exceptional scientific and professional opportunities to students, members, and partners.

With a focus on interdisciplinarity, the IQ brings together researchers, students and industrial partners to push back the boundaries of knowledge in fields such as quantum information, quantum materials and quantum engineering, while setting in motion projects that explore the potential of quantum science and technologies to solve complex problems for the world of today and tomorrow.

Thanks to its world-class technological infrastructures, experimental platforms and commitment to collaboration and innovation, IQ is positioned as a world leader in quantum research. With a focus on training future generations of researchers and professionals, IQ aims to transform these discoveries into technologies that will have a positive impact on society, the economy and a wide range of sectors.

The Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS) has set up research platforms to support and accelerate discoveries in various scientific fields.

🔹 The AlgoLab explores the potential of quantum computation in a number of research fields through collaborative research projects, notably in optimization, quantum machine learning and materials simulation.

🔹 The Quantum FabLab (QFL) is a multi-user platform, where state-of-the-art equipment is dedicated to the advanced characterization of quantum materials and devices.

Much more than mere infrastructures, these platforms offer access to state-of-the-art equipment and the expertise of the technical teams operating them. This unique environment fosters collaboration, innovation and the emergence of major scientific breakthroughs.
