The Position
We are seeking a Software Development Manager to join our R&D team to oversee the successful delivery of software products across multiple product lines. This role plans, coordinates, and manages the development and release of compliant software solutions for our medical device portfolio.
The Software Development Manager will lead development teams responsible for native macOS applications and web-based applications. Working closely with Product Management, Project Management, Systems Engineering, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations, this role ensures software products are delivered on schedule, meet product requirements, and comply with applicable medical device regulations and quality management system requirements. The Software Development Manager will balance flexibility and rigor in their approach and bring a proactive, delivery-focused, and customer-centric management style.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Delivery and Program Management
Develop and maintain software project schedules, release plans, resource forecasts, and delivery roadmaps.
Agile Leadership and Team Development
Coach team members to improve planning, estimation, execution, and continuous improvement practices.
Medical Device Compliance and Quality
Support design control activities including requirements traceability, risk management, verification, validation, and change control.
Cross-Functional Product Leadership
Partner with Product Management to balance customer needs, product priorities, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure successful product delivery by collaborating with software, systems, hardware, quality, and operations teams.
Process Improvement and Operational Excellence
Accountable for development tooling, automation, CI/CD processes, and software lifecycle management practices.
Skills and Experience to Enable Success:
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Experience supporting regulated software products, audits, verification and validation activities, and design history file documentation.
