Lead Project Engineer
Location: Vancouver

Reports To: Manager, Project Engineering
Compensation: $150k - $1200k annually
Position Summary
The Lead Project Engineer provides hands-on technical leadership for underground mine development and capital projects. Reporting to the Manager, Project Engineering, this role owns the technical quality, coordination, and delivery of underground engineering work, acting as the primary interface between design teams, contractors, and site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day engineering execution related to the Panuco project.
- Coordinate multi-discipline design inputs into an integrated, constructible plan.
- Review underground engineering drawings, models, and technical deliverables produced by internal staff and consultants.
- Identify and drive optimization opportunities within assigned scope (cost, schedule, design efficiency).
- Ensure assigned work complies with applicable mining regulations and internal technical standards.
- Incorporate environmental and sustainability requirements into engineering deliverables.
- Verify that safety procedures are properly designed and documented within assigned scope.
- Prepare technical summaries and status updates for the Project Engineering Manager.
- Maintain document control and change management discipline for assigned drawings and deliverables.
- Monitor day-to-day contractor technical compliance and safety performance on assigned scope; escalate issues to the Manager as needed.
- Coordinate directly with geology, mine planning, processing, procurement, and site HSE teams on technical matters.
- Build strong working relationships between the project team and operations personnel.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Civil/Structural, Electrical engineering or related discipline (P.Eng. or eligibility preferred).
- 8-15 years of project engineering and/or construction experience
- Working knowledge of underground design principles.
- Experience reviewing technical deliverables and managing contractor/consultant technical output.
- Experience coordinating procurement, contracts with the technical team and construction teams
- Experience with managing contractors with day-to-day technical queries or on-site problem solving

Location and Travel
This role is based in Vancouver, BC, and requires significant travel to Hermosillo Mexico during the design and procurement phase, transitioning to a heavy site role or roster (depending on requirements) during construction and commissioning.
