Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Architect to support enterprise architecture engagements, business transformation initiatives, and strategic alignment across complex government programs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise business architecture, capability modelling, architecture governance, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain enterprise business architecture models, capability maps, and transformation blueprints.
- Lead architecture engagements and facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders and business teams.
- Develop Business Architecture Documentation (BAD) aligned with Solution Requirements Documents (SRD) and Information Architecture Documents (IAD).
- Apply BPMN, business process modelling, value chain analysis, and business outcome/KPI definition.
- Ensure alignment between business strategies, operational requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Establish architecture governance, controls, and cross-functional integration.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 5 years in Business Architecture on large, complex projects.
- Experience delivering enterprise-level or core business architecture for government or large organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, business process modelling, and architecture documentation.
- Knowledge of Government of Ontario Information Technology Standards (GO-ITS) and Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Ontario Public Service (OPS) experience, including AGP1 and enterprise architecture governance.
- Knowledge of the Zachman Framework, Information Architecture, Data Governance, and SAFe.
- Experience with enterprise architecture modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, PowerDesigner, or Orbus.
- Familiarity with AODA, privacy, records management, and Ontario Digital Service design principles.
