Irwin’s Safety is looking for experienced Electrical Safety Instructors to deliver training for a major BC utility. Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with BC Hydro’s work practices and safety procedures.
Position: Electrical Safety Instructor
Locations: Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Northern BC
Job Type: Subcontract
What you will do
- Deliver electrical safety courses to utility workers
- Teach in a clear and engaging way to groups with different experience levels
- Help workers understand the hazards and the safe work practices
What we are looking for
- Direct working experience with BC Hydro’s Work Protection Practices (WPP) and Power System Safety Protection (PSSP) (required)
- Experience as an electrical safety trainer or instructor
- Good knowledge of electrical hazards, safety standards and best practices
- Experience teaching Arc Flash, Limits of Approach, Wire Guard or other electrical safety courses
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Relevant certifications are an asset
- Experience with large corporate training or safety programs is an asset
