Position Overview:
IT Business Advisors is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator who can take ownership of client issues and provide dependable remote and onsite support across diverse IT environments.
This permanent, full-time Systems Administrator position is based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The hybrid work arrangement allows a mix of work-from-home days and travel to client locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as required.
You will administer diverse client IT environments, resolve escalated technical issues, and work with senior technical staff on managed-services and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Support
· Provide remote and onsite support for desktops, servers, networks, and cloud
services.
· Own incidents and service requests from diagnosis through resolution, keeping clients
Informed and documentation current.
· Escalate complex or unresolved issues when required.
Preventive Maintenance:
· Perform system health checks, patching, monitoring, backup verification, and
documented restore tests.
· Escalate failed tests or remediation needs and maintain systems to established
standards.
Project Assistance:
· Support infrastructure projects from planning and implementation through
documentation and follow-up.
· Assist with workstation deployments, server upgrades, migrations, and related
initiatives.
Client Engagement:
· Build positive client relationships through clear communication and strong service.
· Work independently while remaining organized, accountable, and responsive.
Work Arrangement and Schedule:
· Hybrid work environment, with travel to GTA client locations as required.
· Rotating shifts: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
· College diploma, degree, or equivalent education and experience.
· At least three years of progressive IT support experience, including Windows Server
Administration and troubleshooting.
· Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, identity
and access management, and backup and recovery solutions.
· Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls,
switching, wireless networks, and basic routing.
· Strong communication, organization, time-management, and client-service skills.
· Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and occasionally work
evenings or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with macOS, Linux, or an MSP environment.
· Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as MS-102, MD-102, or AZ-104.
· Familiarity with PSA, RMM, endpoint security, documentation, backup, and remote-
support platforms.
Special Requirements:
· The successful candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
· This position requires regular travel to client sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Because driving between client sites is an essential duty, the successful candidate
must hold and maintain a valid Ontario driver’s licence and insurance. Proof will be
requested only after a conditional offer of employment.
· In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires
the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police
Clearance Certificate.
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary: based on experience, skills, certifications, education, and overall fit.
Benefits may include health and dental coverage, disability and life insurance, vacation, statutory holidays, sick leave, educational assistance, and bereavement leave, subject to plan terms and company policies.
The successful candidate may also be considered for a discretionary year-end bonus based on individual and company performance, client service, and length of service.
