The Cross Border Data Clearance (CBDC) Specialist is an execution-focused role within the Enterprise Data Office (EDO).
- Draft, format, and refine the EDO’s internal CBDC procedures.
- Deliver and track training completion of target audience in EDO.
- Execute periodic CBDC controls, escalate any gaps identified, and resolve those gaps.
- Collect data from stakeholders within and outside EDO, retrieving historical clearances, prepare data transfer submissions for approval.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting cross-border data transfer assessments, regulatory compliance initiatives, data governance programs, or privacy risk management activities.
- Understanding of data residency requirements, lawful transfer mechanisms, consent management, and confidentiality obligations.
- Experience working with global regulatory frameworks governing data handling, sharing, retention, and cross-border transfers.
- Ability to identify control gaps, conduct root cause analysis, recommend remediation actions, and support issue resolution.
- Ability to leverage AI to introduce efficiencies
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Privacy, Compliance, Operational Risk, and/or business analysis within a large financial institution.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface with diverse stakeholders (including Enterprise Data Office, Internal Audit, Independent Quality Assurance, Data Transfer Office, and Risk & Controls) and coordinate deliverables across different streams.
- Execution Focus - A practical "get-things-done" attitude, comfortable operating as a delivery resource ("maker") taking direction from multiple leads.
- Extremely organized, motivated, analytical, and detail oriented.
- Constructively challenge existing processes and seek out answers.
Bachelor, Univeristy Degree.
This is a contract role and work is hybrid (3 days on site)
