Role Description This volunteer Social Media Specialist role is a hybrid position based in Montreal, QC, with a mix of in-person activities and work-from-home flexibility. The Social Media Specialist will plan, create, schedule, and publish engaging content across JCI Leaders MTL’s social media channels to promote events, projects, and member stories. Day-to-day tasks include drafting posts, designing basic visuals or coordinating with designers, monitoring engagement, responding to comments and messages, and maintaining a consistent brand voice. The role also involves collaborating with the leadership and project teams to align content with organizational goals, tracking basic performance metrics, and suggesting improvements based on insights. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple platforms, can work independently, and is interested in community impact and leadership development.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation, including planning, posting, and engagement management across major platforms.
- Experience or interest in Digital Marketing and Marketing, with an understanding of audiences, campaigns, and basic performance metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal Communication skills in English; French proficiency is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer environment, manage time effectively, and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
- Familiarity with basic design or content tools (e.g., Canva, scheduling platforms) is beneficial.
- Previous experience in social media, marketing, community organizations, or student leadership is an advantage but not required.
