Role Description The Staff Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role located at Jean Coutu in Shediac, NB. The role involves accurately dispensing prescriptions, verifying medication orders, and providing clear counseling to patients on proper use, side effects, and interactions. The Staff Pharmacist collaborates with pharmacy technicians and other team members to ensure efficient workflow, inventory management, and compliance with all regulatory and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing patient profiles, resolving medication-related issues, communicating with prescribers, and maintaining detailed, accurate documentation. The Staff Pharmacist also supports health promotion initiatives, contributes to a positive customer experience, and helps train and mentor pharmacy staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in New Brunswick, with strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards of practice.
- Proficiency in clinical judgment, prescription verification, and medication therapy management, with attention to safety and accuracy.
- Ability to provide patient-centered counseling, communicate complex information clearly, and build respectful relationships with patients and healthcare providers.
- Experience working with pharmacy management systems, handling inventory, and managing workflow in a community pharmacy environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory care, with a focus on confidentiality and professional integrity.
- Willingness to work required shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed to support pharmacy operations.
- Previous community pharmacy experience and fluency in both English and French are considered assets.
