SUMMARY:
Jenoptik Light & Safety builds the civil security and smart city systems used by agencies across North America and Europe. We're looking for a fullstack developer to build and maintain the C# backend and React frontend that power our web application. You'll work closely with product, design, and engineering to turn requirements into working software, end to end, on a team that values clean code and real ownership.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Design, build, and maintain C# backend services and React frontend components that power our web application.
- Work with product, design, and engineering to understand requirements and turn them into effective technical solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code that follows industry best practices and our internal coding standards.
- Review code and give your peers constructive feedback.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs that are secure, efficient, and easy to use.
- Partner with DevOps to deploy and monitor backend and frontend components, and troubleshoot issues as they come up.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and security of our systems, and stay current with trends and technologies in the field.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a fullstack developer, ideally with C#, .NET Core, and React.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, including data persistence, caching, and asynchronous processing.
- Proficient in C#, .NET Core, and related tools and frameworks, as well as React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and knowledge of API design principles and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working on a globally distributed engineering team.
- Strong communication skills. You can explain technical concepts clearly to developers, other technical teams, and management.
- Comfortable absorbing technical detail quickly and making sound decisions under tight deadlines, even with incomplete information.
- Willingness to travel to Jupiter, FL; Mississauga, ON; Monheim am Rhein, Germany; and Farnborough, England.
- Experience with radar, photo enforcement, or traffic systems is a plus.
- Comfort working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, preferably Microsoft Azure, along with experience in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker.

This role occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, and using your hands to handle tools, objects, or a keyboard. You may need to reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or work at heights and on ladders. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
