As a Careers in Motion (CIM) Logistics Student, you'll gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of transportation and logistics while building skills that will benefit you throughout your career. Through the CIM program, you'll make an impact through working on meaningful projects, and gain exposure to various J.D. Irving businesses, particularly within the transportation sector. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages learning, innovation, and professional development.
JDI Logistics, part of the Transportation and Logistics Division of J.D. Irving, Limited, is seeking a Logistics Student based in Saint John, New Brunswick. This opportunity is ideal for a student who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, solving problems, analyzing data, and supporting customer transportation needs. The hourly range for this role is between $19.89 - $22.09.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze market and transportation data to support business decisions
- Assist with initiatives aimed at improving customer profitability and service performance
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to monitor transportation rates and capacity changes
- Support customer requests by tracking, updating, and communicating shipment and pricing information
- Maintain accurate system and customer data
- Assist with special projects and other logistics-related activities as required
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
- Interest in operations, logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Customer-focused mindset with a willingness to go above and beyond
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis is considered an asset
