Job Description-
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Low Latency Developer to join our Payments Processing Development team and help drive the evolution of our next-generation exchange connectivity and Direct Market Access (DMA) platforms. This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer with a strong background in low-latency trading systems, financial markets technology, and modern Java development.
As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high-performance, resilient trading and market connectivity solutions. You will work closely with product management, global engineering teams, QA, and production support teams to deliver scalable solutions that align with the organization's strategic technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support high-performance, low-latency trade execution and exchange connectivity platforms.
- Collaborate with regional and global development teams to deliver strategic technology initiatives and business objectives.
- Partner with business stakeholders and product teams to enhance platform capabilities, resiliency, and latency performance.
- Drive the development of next-generation DMA and market access solutions.
- Implement low-latency design patterns, performance optimization techniques, and scalable distributed architectures.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks, development tools, and delivery environments to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for trading workflows and platform functionality.
- Champion Agile development practices, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Contribute to engineering standards, development best practices, and architectural governance.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 8 years in the Financial Services industry.
- Strong expertise in Core Java development, preferably with JDK 17 or later.
- Proven experience building and supporting low-latency, high-throughput trading or market connectivity platforms.
- Deep understanding of low-latency system design principles, performance tuning, and mechanical sympathy techniques.
- Hands-on experience with microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
- Prior experience developing automated trading, order management, or market access platforms.
- Strong knowledge of automated testing methodologies and test automation frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile development environments with CI/CD practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across global, multicultural teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FIX Protocol and/or binary protocols used for market connectivity and order routing.
- Knowledge of exchange connectivity, DMA platforms, electronic trading systems, or capital markets technology.
- Experience with AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted software engineering solutions.
- Exposure to cloud-native technologies, observability tooling, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience working within globally distributed development organizations.
