Founded in 2019, K2 Capital is a single-family office, permanent capital investment firm with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, and New York. Our firm employs a staff of investment professionals with extensive experience in capital markets, investment banking, portfolio management & analysis, trading, research, accounting, corporate governance, and corporate strategy.
We manage, among other vehicles, an equities-oriented investment mandate rooted in high conviction, operational quality, and a disciplined path towards growth. Our team frequently adopts leading roles in partnership with the management teams of our portfolio companies to identify & unlock value, manage risk, and raise capital. Since inception, we have raised +C$500 million in equity capital across +90 financings for our portfolio companies.

We are seeking an exceptional and thoughtful Investment Analyst to join our investment team. The Investment Analyst will work closely with our firm’s Vice President and the Managing Director and will have significant exposure to company management, investors, and transaction counterparties.
This individual will play an active role in all aspects of the investment and portfolio company management process and contribute meaningfully to our firm’s business. We are seeking a talented and motivated professional who demonstrates sound judgment, a strong work ethic, demonstrated resourcefulness, and confidence in their ability to perform in a meritocratic environment.
Key responsibilities of the Investment Analyst shall include:
- Evaluate and analyze current and new investment opportunities
- Monitor, update, review, and continually assess our firm’s existing portfolio company strategic initiatives and operations
- Support the execution of M&A, financing, and other strategic assignments for our firm’s portfolio companies
- Develop, prepare, and maintain key strategic corporate items, including corporate presentations, investor materials, transaction analyses, financial models, and valuation analyses
- Conduct comprehensive company, industry, market, and transaction research to support current engagements and portfolio company business development initiatives
- Coordinate transaction due diligence and manage information flow among portfolio companies, legal counsel, accountants, investors, and other advisors
- Assist with transaction structuring, valuation, financing considerations, and the evaluation of strategic alternatives
- Support Vice President, Managing Director, and portfolio company management teams in investor discussions, transaction negotiations, and new business development activities
- Monitor relevant capital markets activity, industry developments, public company performance, and precedent transactions
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail across financial analyses, presentations, and transaction materials
A successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, engineering, or another relevant discipline
- Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in investing, corporate finance, and capital markets
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation, analytical, and quantitative capabilities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
- High degree of attention to detail, professionalism, judgment, and accountability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a demanding, deadline-driven environment
- Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to assume increasing levels of responsibility
