Pay: CA$26.00 - CA$48.00 per hour
Job Summary:
Kanex Industries is a Canadian-owned steel fabrication and installation specialist based in Langley. With over 18 years of expertise, we reliably deliver high-quality structural and miscellaneous steelwork across the industry.
We are seeking a skilled Steel Fabricator/Welder with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for reading drawings & receiving, cutting, fitting, welding and shipping a variety of assemblies across residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Your reliability and attention to detail will ensure we deliver the high-quality products our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Operate Forklift for shipping/receiving
- Clear understanding and interpretation of shop drawings
- Accurately measure and cut materials according to shop drawings/cut lists
- Fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel components safely and efficiently
- Perform FCAW and GMAW welding processes
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality
- Lead material and workflow through the shop
- Support and Mentor apprentices and assist with their skill development
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment
- Collaborate with office and field team members on project timelines and issues
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Documented Red Seal Fabricator certification
- 5 years of fabrication experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid FCAW CWB Certificate
- Strong ability to interpret shop drawings
- Strong knowledge in mathematics and unit conversion
- Strong knowledge of tools and machinery
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Valid Class 7 forklift ticket
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Experience:
- Proven experience in Steel Fabrication: 5 years (required)
- Proven experience in Welding FCAW required (GMAW is an asset)
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading
- Strong knowledge of tools, plasma cutting, machinery (ironworker and band saw)
- Ability to safely operate Forklift
