We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle PLM/PIM & ERP BOM Consultant with deep expertise in Oracle Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Oracle Product Hub/PIM Cloud, Oracle ERP, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Product Data Management.
The consultant will assess the existing Oracle landscape, identify challenges within current BOM and product-data processes, and support a non-production MVP designed to demonstrate change propagation across Engineering BOM (eBOM), Supply Chain BOM (SCBOM), Service/Replacement BOM (SRBOM), and Oracle ERP.
This is a highly consultative role requiring strong hands-on Oracle expertise along with the ability to work directly with business, engineering, supply-chain, IT, and consulting stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the client's existing Oracle PLM/PIM and ERP landscape, with particular focus on product structures, Item Master, BOMs, and product-data flows.
- Analyze current BOM creation, maintenance, synchronization, and change-management processes and identify process, integration, and data-quality gaps.
- Support the design and execution of a non-production MVP demonstrating BOM change propagation across eBOM, SCBOM, SRBOM, and ERP.
- Evaluate how engineering changes, substitutions, alternatives, and component updates propagate across downstream systems and processes.
- Review and recommend improvements for Item Master, BOM governance, product structures, AML/AVL, engineering change workflows, and product-data governance.
- Assess lot/build traceability and the relationship between engineering, manufacturing, supply-chain, and service BOM structures.
- Work with Oracle Agile PLM and/or Oracle Product Hub/PIM Cloud and relevant Oracle ERP modules, including Inventory, Item Master, Bills of Material, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality.
- Evaluate existing integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), APIs, FBDI/interface tables, SQL, and other integration mechanisms.
- Conduct SME interviews and workshops with engineering, manufacturing, supply-chain, service, and IT stakeholders.
- Document current-state challenges, process/data gaps, integration dependencies, and future-state recommendations.
- Provide advisory guidance and actionable recommendations for improving BOM traceability, synchronization, governance, and change propagation.
- Collaborate closely with Kearney and client stakeholders throughout the assessment and MVP.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Product Data Management, BOM, PLM, ERP, manufacturing systems, or related areas.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on Oracle PLM/PIM and Oracle ERP BOM/Item Master experience.
- Strong expertise with Oracle Agile PLM and/or Oracle Product Hub/PIM Cloud.
- Hands-on knowledge of Oracle ERP functionality related to:
- Item Master
- Bills of Material (BOM)
- Inventory
- Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Purchasing
- Quality
- Deep understanding of eBOM, SCBOM, and SRBOM structures and traceability.
- Strong experience with BOM change propagation, engineering changes, component substitutions, alternates, and revisions.
- Experience with AML/AVL processes, lot/build traceability, change workflows, and product-data governance.
- Knowledge of OIC, REST/SOAP APIs, FBDI/interface tables, SQL, data integrations, and reporting.
- Ability to identify process, system, integration, and data gaps and translate findings into practical implementation recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder-management, workshop-facilitation, advisory, and communication skills.
Must-Have Skills

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate combines deep Oracle product-data and BOM expertise with strong consulting and advisory capabilities. This individual should understand not only how BOMs are configured within Oracle but also how engineering changes and product data flow across PLM/PIM, supply chain, manufacturing, service, and ERP environments.
Candidates with hands-on experience diagnosing complex BOM synchronization issues and developing or supporting proof-of-concept/MVP solutions for BOM change propagation will be particularly well suited for this engagement.
