KCG Search is partnering with a growing boutique financial advisory firm in Vancouver to hire two Associates for its Business Development & Capital Markets team.
This is a unique opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to break deeper into capital markets, deal origination and business development.
The mission is simple: find exciting private growth companies that need capital, connect with their founders, qualify the opportunity, and help build the firm's deal pipeline.
This is not a traditional modeling-heavy analyst role. It's an origination seat for someone who likes the hunt - researching companies, identifying opportunities, picking up the phone, building relationships and getting in the room.
What you'll be doing:
- Identify private growth companies that are raising capital, preparing to raise, scaling rapidly or considering strategic alternatives
- Conduct outbound outreach through phone, email, LinkedIn and referrals
- Track financing activity, funding announcements, filings and other signals that companies may be ready for capital
- Attend capital markets conferences, industry events, investor gatherings and founder events
- Build relationships with founders, brokers, lawyers, accountants, investors and other deal sources
- Conduct initial screening calls with founders and executives
- Prepare concise company profiles for qualified opportunities
- Book qualified meetings and work directly with senior leadership as opportunities move forward
- Build and manage an active pipeline in the CRM
Who could be a great fit?
We're open on background. You might have 1–4 years of experience in investment banking, brokerage, investor relations, capital markets, exchange listings, venture lending, corporate development or B2B sales.
We're also open to an exceptional recent graduate who can demonstrate real hustle - sales experience, cold calling, entrepreneurship, competitive athletics or another track record of going after difficult goals.
What matters most is your temperament.
You are competitive, organized, coachable and persistent. Rejection doesn't bother you. You're comfortable picking up the phone, you're genuinely curious about companies and capital markets, and you want your results to directly impact your compensation and career growth.
Basic financial literacy is important - you should be comfortable reading financial statements and understanding a cap table - but you don't need to know everything about taking a company public on day one.
Compensation: $70,000–$90,000 base, depending on experience, plus performance-based compensation tied to qualified opportunities and deals sourced.
