Role Description The Junior Landscape Architect is a full-time, hybrid role based in Vaughan, ON, with some flexibility for work from home. This position supports senior designers, sales staff, and project managers in developing site plans, landscape concepts, and construction drawings for pool and landscaping projects. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with landscape design, preparing planting plans, drafting layouts, and coordinating details that integrate pools, hardscapes, and softscapes. The role involves site visits for measurements and assessments, collaborating with project managers and construction teams, and helping prepare presentations and documentation for clients. The Junior Landscape Architect also contributes to project research, material selections, permit applications and ongoing design revisions to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and scheduling expectations.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Design to support the creation of cohesive outdoor environments.
- Candidates should possess skills in Landscape Planning and Landscaping to assist with site layout, grading, and implementation of design concepts.
- Candidates should possess skills in developing detailed Planting Plans to ensure appropriate species selection and coordinated planting schemes.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency with design and drafting software (such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools), and basic familiarity with rendering or visualization tools.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to interpret site conditions, and readiness to work both in-office and on-site as needed.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to incorporate feedback and work under the guidance of senior team members.
- Knowledge of local climate, plant materials, and construction methods in Ontario is an asset.
