APSWs work with adults living with developmental disabilities to live as independently, safely, and securely as possible in their community. An APSW ensures that the individualâs support plan addresses the holistic nature of each personâs life and is focused on their dreams, desires, and aspirations. You Will:
- Be part of a team that provides services to people living in Kenora, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, and the surrounding areas, including northern communities.
- Interact directly with adults living with developmental disabilities and/or their families to help them access and maintain services and support to enhance their lives.
- Advocate to ensure the rights of adults with developmental disabilities are respected.
- Advocate for the appropriate role of KACL in cross sector interactions and meetings.
- Provide skills assessment, planning, communication, education, resource management and service coordination.
- Push yourself to gain knowledge, to always be learning, and to become your most authentic self.

This is an on-site position based in Kenora, Ontario. Nestled on the shores of the stunning Lake of the Woods in Northwestern Ontario, Kenora offers the charm of a close-knit community combined with exceptional outdoor recreation. Located near the Ontario–Manitoba border, Kenora is approximately a two-hour drive east of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
