General Summary
The Logistics Analyst supports the Distribution team by coordinating vehicle logistics activities, managing inventory movement, monitoring transportation performance, and ensuring the timely delivery of vehicles to dealers.
The role is responsible for analyzing logistics and transportation data, validating costs and carrier performance, supporting inventory management, and facilitating the resolution of dealer inquiries and operational issues.
The Logistics Analyst works closely with logistics providers and internal stakeholders to improve processes, maintain accurate reporting, support vehicle allocation and special vehicle programs, and ensure the efficient execution of vehicle distribution activities across the national network.
This position plays a key role in supporting vehicle distribution operations, inventory accuracy, cost control, and dealer satisfaction through analysis, reporting, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Please note that this is a 12-month contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Validate and analyze inventory, logistics, customs-related, and other operational costs, while identifying opportunities to improve existing and future logistics processes.
- Monitor and evaluate Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider performance, validate KPIs and associated costs, and prepare reports and recommendations.
- Partner with Glovis and other logistics providers to manage transportation claims and ensure timely resolution and payment processing.
- Review and validate all logistics invoices for pricing accuracy and cost analysis
- Ensure compliance with customs reporting requirements.
- Manage and reconcile inventory for both imported vehicles and North American production units.
- Support 3PL partners in the implementation, monitoring, validation, and reconciliation of EDI processes.
- Prepare and maintain logistics, inventory, transportation, and cost-performance reports for internal stakeholders.
- Support vehicle allocation activities, special vehicle programs, and dealer delivery requirements.
- Investigate and resolve dealer inquiries, transportation issues, and operational concerns in a timely manner.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses, prepare management reports, and support projects and initiatives as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Requirement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders, dealers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret logistics, inventory, transportation, and cost data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite; experience with logistics and inventory management systems preferred.
- Experience working with inventory management, transportation operations, EDI processes, and logistics reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, cost validation, and process compliance.
- Knowledge of transportation, distribution, supply chain, and inventory management principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing changing priorities and deadlines.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, inventory management, or a related analytical role, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
