The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Communications and Events Coordinator plays a key role in advancing KidsAbility's mission through the delivery of engaging events, effective communications, and collaborative initiatives that support organizational priorities.

In this role, you'll coordinate and support a variety of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events; create and maintain digital content; and contribute to communications projects that engage employees, clients, families, and community partners. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, deadlines are met, and communications remain timely, accurate, and impactful.

Your Impact:

As the Communications and Events Coordinator, you will:

Support the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external events, including logistics management, stakeholder communications, and on-site event support
Coordinate event operations, including venue arrangements, registration systems, vendor relationships, event materials, and participant experience.
Provide technical support for virtual and hybrid events, including speaker preparation, audience engagement tools, and live event execution.
Assist with the planning and delivery of organizational events, celebrations, and employee recognition initiatives.
Coordinate incoming communications and marketing requests, helping to manage workflows, timelines, and deliverables through the team's ticketing system.
Create and maintain website content, ensuring information remains accurate, current, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Maintain and support the communications editorial calendar to ensure timely and consistent content delivery.
Assist with day-to-day communications activities, including inbox management, reporting, scheduling, and project coordination.
Create and support the development of digital content and communication materials, including social media content, graphics, presentations, and promotional collateral.
Ensure all communications and marketing materials align with KidsAbility's brand standards, organizational policies, and accessibility requirements.

Your Experience and Expertise:

To be successful in this role, you will have post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field along with 2-5 years of relevant experience.

In addition, you will bring:

Experience coordinating events, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats.
Experience creating and maintaining digital content across websites, social media platforms, and other communication channels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
Excellent organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and content creation tools such as Canva.
Experience managing projects, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting cross-functional initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and provide exceptional service to internal and external partners.
Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

The following qualifications would be considered assets:

Experience working in a healthcare, not-for-profit, or community-based organization.
Familiarity with website content management systems, social media scheduling platforms, or customer service/ticketing systems.
Experience supporting employee engagement, recognition, fundraising, or community events.

Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle to support work across multiple sites, as needed, is required.
