Now Hiring: Dietary Aide (Full Time)Location: Casa Mia – Vancouver, BC
Work Hours: 10:30am-6:30pm (Saturday to Tuesday).About Casa MiaCasa Mia offers 90 long term care beds, consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Many with expansive views.
This estate home features three stories with a grand dining area, ballroom, recreation areas and large outdoor patios on each floor. Casa Mia provides our residents with a heritage estate setting and modern best practice care.
Casa Mia works in partnership with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
What You’ll DoAs a Dietary Aide, you will play an important role in supporting the dietary team and ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and timely meals. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen and food storage area.
- Supporting the Cook/Chef in meal and snack preparation to ensure timely service.
- Assisting with appropriate portioning while respecting residents’ dietary needs, preferences, dislikes, and allergies.
- Maintaining records related to grease trap cleaning and maintenance.
- Ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met in both kitchen and dining areas for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Participating in infection control meetings as required (approximately every two months).
What You Bring- Minimum of 1 year of experience in food service or a related role (health care or institutional setting preferred).
- Valid Food Safe Level 1 and WHMIS certification.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
- A caring, respectful, and resident-focused attitude.
