This full-time, on-site Construction Estimator role is based in Calgary, AB. The Construction Estimator will prepare detailed estimates for residential projects, including quantity take-offs, labor and material costing, and subcontractor pricing. Experience in Buildertrend would be an asset- training is also available for someone willing to learn.
Responsibilities include analyzing drawings and specifications, coordinating with project managers, site teams, and suppliers, and preparing bid submissions and cost summaries. The role also involves monitoring project budgets, updating cost data, and contributing to value engineering and cost-saving recommendations. The estimator will maintain organized documentation, support tender processes, and provide clear communication on cost-related matters to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong Construction Estimating skills with experience preparing detailed bids and proposals.
- Proficiency in Quantity Take-offs and measurement from drawings and specifications.
- Cost Management and Budgeting skills to track, forecast, and control project costs.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with project teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Experience with estimating software and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local building codes.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, estimating, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
