Role Description As an IB STEM Educator at Krsna Academy, you will design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB standards in STEM subjects. You will plan units, develop assessments, and integrate real-world applications, project-based learning, and hands-on experiments to support diverse learners. Daily responsibilities include facilitating classroom discussions, providing individual and small-group support, monitoring student progress, and offering timely, constructive feedback. You will collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum, participate in professional learning, and maintain clear communication with students and caregivers. This is a contract, hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, with a combination of on-campus teaching and some work-from-home tasks such as planning, grading, and virtual meetings.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in STEM disciplines (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science) and ability to connect concepts to real-world applications.
- Experience with IB curricula or similar inquiry-based, international programs, including unit planning, assessment design, and learner-centered instruction.
- Strong classroom facilitation skills, including differentiation, behavior management, and fostering inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.
- Proficiency in using educational technology tools for lesson delivery, assessment, and communication, with comfort in hybrid and online learning settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and caregivers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a STEM field; teaching certification or relevant IB training is preferred.
- Prior experience teaching middle or high school students in STEM subjects; experience in project-based and experiential learning is an asset.
