About Organization
We provide engineering solutions for our clients with our team’s vast experience in the wood processing, mining, power generation and distribution projects in Canada and United States.
We offer multi-disciplined engineering services throughout every phase of a project; we provide client solutions from project inception through feasibility study, cost estimate, process, detailed engineering, procurement, construction management, and plant operational support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Designing electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams; and performing power systems study, including short circuit calculation, arc flash study, and relay protection coordination;
· Preparing equipment layout, grounding layouts, lighting layouts, conduit, and cable tray layouts;
· Developing motor schematics and wiring diagrams, instrumentation, and control wiring diagrams;
· Preparing PLC configuration and I/O lists, programming PLC and HMI;
· Updating cost estimates and project schedule;
· Producing bid documents and conducting bid evaluations; and
· Coordinating with owners, suppliers, contractors, and other disciplines.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 5 plus years of experience in electrical and power systems design, project management, and on-site commissioning for mining, wood industry, renewable energy, such as pellet plant, OSB plant, mine, wind farm, solar panel, biomass plant, and substation;
· Engineers must be registered as professional engineers with Engineers and Geoscientists BC;
· Experience with substations, power generation and distribution;
· Knowledge of Gensets, Switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and PLC, HMI, and DCS systems;
· Familiarity with IEEE Color Books, CEC, NEC, NFPA, NAICS, and the Building Code;
· Experience using EasyPower, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
· The ability to provide direction and leadership to junior engineers and designers.
· A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and peers;
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English; and
· No travel restrictions to USA.
