Role Description The Accountant role at Kuthala Group is a full-time, on-site position based in Brampton, ON. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements and reports for multiple business divisions. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, supporting payroll entries, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and monitoring cash flow. The role will also involve supporting month-end and year-end close processes, assisting with audits and tax filings, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and organizational policies. The Accountant will collaborate with operations and management teams to provide accurate financial data that supports decision-making and growth.
Qualifications
- Strong general accounting skills, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (e.g., spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis tools).
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in Canada.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple business units.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or in progress) is an asset.
- Previous accounting experience in transportation, logistics, equipment leasing, or related industries is considered an advantage.
