Role Description The Accounting Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This role is responsible for recording and posting journal entries, maintaining accurate ledgers, and assisting in the preparation and review of financial statements for multiple divisions. Day-to-day tasks include reconciling accounts, processing invoices and payments, monitoring expenses, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The Accounting Associate will work with accounting software to ensure data integrity, assist with financial reporting and analysis, and collaborate with internal teams to respond to inquiries and support audits and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in finance and accounting, including experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
- Hands-on experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance, with attention to accuracy and completeness.
- Proficient in accounting software and related tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Well-developed analytical skills for interpreting financial data, identifying discrepancies, and supporting business decisions.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; progress toward a professional designation (e.g., CPA) is an asset.
- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and relevant regulations; experience in multi-division or multi-entity environments is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site team setting.
