Role Description The Senior Electrician role is a full-time, on-site position located in Cambridge, ON. In this role, the Senior Electrician will lead and perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients. Daily responsibilities include interpreting electrical drawings and schematics, planning work sequences, supervising junior electricians, and ensuring all work adheres to safety codes and regulations. The Senior Electrician will troubleshoot complex electrical issues, coordinate with project managers and other trades, and document work performed to maintain accurate records. This position requires consistent adherence to safety practices and quality standards while meeting project timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in electricity principles and electrical engineering concepts relevant to industrial, commercial, and institutional environments.
- Proficiency in electrical work, including installation of wiring, panels, conduit, and related systems.
- Experience with maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, systems, and components.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults and performance issues.
- Valid electrician license/certification appropriate for Ontario and compliance with local electrical codes.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including knowledge of relevant regulations and safe work practices.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior electricians or apprentices is an asset.
- Reliable transportation to the Cambridge, ON worksite and flexibility to work on varied projects and schedules as needed.
