Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering patient care in a patient-centred care environment for the musculoskeletal population. This position assists the Physiotherapist with direct patient care activities such as providing, monitoring and documenting various functional restoration and exercise programs with appropriate use of related equipment; providing timely feedback to supervising therapists regarding patient status and response to treatment; assisting in the maintenance of the department including physical environment, equipment and inventory of supplies; setting up outpatient class for activities; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
" Graduate of an Occupational/Physiotherapy Assistant Program of an accredited College or an equivalent combination of education and experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant;
" Outpatient patient care experience is preferred;
" Current CPR certification, is required;
" Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and apply critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills;
" Demonstrated ability to apply modalities safely and appropriately;
" Able to maintain statistical data and general department maintenance duties;
" Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations;
" Demonstrated good communication, documentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community;
" Ability to collaborate with inter-professional healthcare teams and involving team members in patient treatment as required;
" Physically able to meet the demands of a busy area including lifting, bending, reaching and standing for extended periods;

" Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area;
" Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard
