We are presently recruiting an experienced Accountant to join our team in Vancouver.
Position Overview:
The Accountant position is full-time and reports directly to the Senior Corporate Controller, supporting a wide range of financial and accounting functions.
The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set that supports the timely production of all financial reporting and contributes meaningfully to investor and lender functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll.
- Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
- Support the Senior Corporate Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support the Senior Corporate Controller in preparing and filing T5013 forms, year-end trust audits and tax filings.
- Maintain the mortgage portfolio in The Mortgage Office (TMO) and support treasury functions and trust accounting.
- Support the Senior Corporate Controller in the financial operations of our exempt market dealer affiliate and the management of new mortgage funds.
- Prepare investor and co-lender distributions, statements and loan payout calculations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Corporate Controller.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or degree in accounting or finance, with at least three years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, banking or lending. Enrolment in the CPA program is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software; experience with Sage 50 is a strong asset.
- Experience with a payroll service (e.g. Payworks) is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to prioritize across concurrent deadlines.
- Collaborative team member with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced spreadsheet and word processing skills, and comfort using AI tools to improve speed and accuracy.

Full-time at our head office at 601 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC (one block from Broadway-City Hall Canada Line station).
