Content Creator and Audiovisual Producer
Latincouver Cultural & Business Society is a non-profit organization that connects over 100,000 Latin Americans and Latin culture enthusiasts across Western Canada. We are a recognized point of reference for the Latin American community in British Columbia, supporting cultural exchange, community development, and economic inclusion.
We are looking for a creative and proactive Content Creator & Audiovisual Producer to bring our stories, events, and community initiatives to life through engaging photography and video content.
The ideal candidate has strong audiovisual skills, a creative mindset, and the ability to manage content production from planning to final delivery while collaborating with our Marketing team
Position Details
Position Type: Independent Contractor
Contract Fee: CAD $1,976 per month
Estimated Commitment: Approximately 24 hours per week
Location: Vancouver, BC, with regular in-person collaboration and on-site event coverage
Occasional evening and weekend availability is required for scheduled events, with arrangements coordinated in advance
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and produce creative audiovisual content for Latincouver's social media platforms, programs, campaigns, and special projects.
- Develop content ideas, visual concepts, and basic scripts in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Create engaging reels, promotional videos, interviews, testimonials, and other short-form video content.
- Adapt audiovisual materials to different digital platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of organizational activities, community initiatives, and events.
- Film and edit audiovisual content, incorporating appropriate music, subtitles, graphics, and visual elements.
- Prepare for assigned productions by identifying filming requirements, equipment needs, and key moments to capture
- Organize and maintain audiovisual files, including raw footage, photographs, and final materials.
- Provide photography and video coverage for Latincouver's festivals, events, and other scheduled activities.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to plan content production, establish priorities, and meet agreed deadlines.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify relevant stories, activities, and opportunities for audiovisual content.
- Support occasional evening and weekend events, coordinating schedules and production requirements in advance.
Requirements and Skills:
- Education or relevant professional experience in Audiovisual Production, Communications, Photography, Film, Advertising, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in content creation, photography, videography, and video editing.
- Proficiency with editing tools such as Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, or Lightroom.
- Knowledge of camera operation, lighting, audio recording, and social media video formats.
- Strong creativity, visual storytelling skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, organize production priorities, and collaborate effectively with others.
- Availability for in-person collaboration and occasional evening or weekend event coverage.
- Professional proficiency in English; Spanish or Portuguese is an asset.
- Experience with cultural events, festivals, or nonprofit organizations is an asset
