About The Opportunity
LRO Staffing is partnering with a respected Ottawa nonprofit organization to recruit an experienced
Fractional HR Consultant for a flexible, part-time contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HR professional who enjoys project-based work and can independently assess organizational needs, provide practical recommendations, and take ownership of key HR initiatives.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing existing HR policies and identifying areas requiring updates or improvement
- Ensuring HR policies are current and aligned with applicable legislation and HR best practices
- Reviewing and refreshing the organization's employee handbook
- Updating handbook content to reflect current policies, legislation, and organizational practices
- Ensuring the employee handbook is clear, practical, and consistent with organizational policies
- Conducting a sector-wide compensation analysis
- Benchmarking salaries against provincial and Ottawa-market standards
- Researching and providing relevant market compensation data
- Developing recommendations to support compensation decisions
- Assessing the organization's current HR needs and determining the appropriate scope of work
- Working independently to manage project priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Providing additional HR support or recommendations as required
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experienced HR professional with a strong background in HR policy, employee handbooks, and compensation analysis
- CHRP designation required
- Current knowledge of applicable employment legislation and HR best practices
- Experience conducting compensation research and market benchmarking
- Strong policy development, review, and writing skills
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently and determining the scope and hours required to complete an assignment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to provide practical, well-researched recommendations
About the Job
- Work Arrangement: Flexible; primarily hybrid/remote once the scope of work is established, with the option to work onsite as needed
- Duration: ASAP, Flexible contract with potential for extension depending on additional work
- Hourly Pay: Approximately $50.00 per hour
- Hours: Part-time and flexible; exact hours to be determined based on the scope of work
