About The Opportunity
Our client in the Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga) is looking for a detail-oriented, Construction industry-focused Senior Project Accounting Manager to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will have experience in Operational, Project-based Accounting, excellent attention to detail, thrive in fast-paced environments, and work collaboratively with others, with previous experience in the Construction industry.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the processing of Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, filing of project invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Oversee reconciliation of accounts including progress billing, change orders, and chargebacks, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Evaluation of prepaids, accruals, asset management, holdbacks, and monitoring of aging; appropriate follow-up when necessary
- Ensure accuracy of LEMs reporting
- Oversee compliance of contract terms and ensure proper set up for projects including billing, costing, tax compliance, and labour requirements
- Oversee job costing, review of costing reports, and cost allocation, as well as providing insight to costing fluctuations and adjustments as needed
- Working closely with the General Ledger, adjustments as needed
- Production of Financial Statements
- Track project costs, revenue as well as cash flow management
- Financial analysis including P&L variance analysis
- Prepare Month End closing including, but not limited to, reconciling balance sheet and revenue accounts, analyzing margins and variances, and preparing adjusting entries
- Work closely with Operations team on Budgeting & Forecasting for assigned project portfolio
- Preparing reporting as needed
- Work one-on-one with the Accounting team to provide mentorship and coaching, as well as provide evaluations and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations as well as following company policy & procedures
- Professionally and effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including leading presentations to provide insight on financial results
- Provide support on similar duties to support the success of the organization
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Previous experience in the Construction industry, preference will be given to those with experience in a GC (50-100M)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- CPA Designation (or in pursuit of) is a strong asset
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles- completed post-secondary education in Business Administration (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, including advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for complex financial issues
- Ability to prioritize accordingly to effectively manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills (English essential)
About The Job
The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000, depending on experience.
