Lucy TV

Lucy TV is an independent streaming service for films and series, and the white-label platform behind it. We are live on the web at lucytv.ca, on iPhone and iPad, on Android phones and tablets, and on Android TV.

We started Lucy TV because independent films reach big audiences, yet very little of that attention turns into money for the people who made them. So we built our own platform: our own apps, our own encoding and delivery, and payments in 21 currencies, including Ethiopian birr through Chapa.

Our catalogue started with films and series from Ethiopia, Eritrea and their diaspora, in Amharic, Tigrinya, Afaan Oromo and English, and it is growing into independent cinema from everywhere. Filmmakers license their work to us and earn from rentals and subscriptions.

As of 16 September 2026, 19,437 people have signed up, up from 1,786 on 1 August, with no paid advertising. Viewers have watched from 104 countries.

The same technology runs as a white-label service, so studios and distributors can launch their own branded streaming app.

Lucy TV Inc. is based in Calgary, Alberta, and is a member of NVIDIA Inception and Platform Calgary.
