Our team specializes in heavy fabrication, precision-built components, replacement parts, and equipment repair and refurbishment. We are known for handling large industrial work while bringing the same care and attention to smaller fabrication and repair projects.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an independent sales representative on a commission-only basis, with no base salary, to develop new business and build long-term customer relationships.
Our primary focus is local Ontario businesses, with opportunities to pursue suitable customers throughout North America. This opportunity is particularly well suited to an established industrial sales representative with an existing customer network. Representatives carrying complementary, non-competing product or service lines are welcome to apply.
You will connect customers’ fabrication and repair needs with Luftstrom’s manufacturing capabilities, working closely with our internal team to qualify opportunities, develop quotations, and secure profitable work.
What You Will Sell
Our services and project opportunities include:
- Custom metal fabrication to supplied drawings and specifications, with drawing support available for selected projects.
- Replacement and spare components.
- Industrial equipment repair, refurbishment, and rebuilds.
- Industrial fan components, including housings, rotors, and related fabricated parts.
- Structural steel and fabricated assemblies.
- Kilns, tanks, skips, nuclear components, and other suitable fabrication packages, subject to project requirements and shop capabilities.
Target Customers
You will pursue opportunities with industrial plants, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), engineering firms, equipment suppliers, and contractors.
Key contacts include maintenance, reliability, purchasing, engineering, and project management professionals who source fabrication, repairs, replacement components, and outsourced manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business through your existing network, direct outreach, referrals, and customer visits.
- Build relationships with decision-makers and understand their equipment, maintenance, and fabrication needs.
- Qualify opportunities for suitability, scope, timing, and commercial potential.
- Gather drawings, specifications, quantities, delivery requirements, and other information needed for our team to assess and quote the work.
- Coordinate with Luftstrom’s internal team to confirm manufacturing capabilities and clarify customer requirements.
- Present our capabilities and communicate the value of our fabrication and repair services.
- Follow quotations through to purchase orders, coordinating commercial discussions with management.
- Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity details, and follow-up activities using CRM tools.
- Support repeat business through regular customer contact and coordination with our team.
- Work toward agreed sales goals while representing Luftstrom with professionalism, honesty, and care.
The ability to interpret drawings and assist with estimates is an asset. Final quotations, pricing, and commitments will be developed and approved with Luftstrom’s internal team.
Qualifications
- Proven success selling industrial products, fabrication services, equipment repairs, or related manufacturing services.
- An established industrial customer network is particularly valuable.
- Understanding of metal fabrication, welding, industrial equipment, or outsourced manufacturing.
- Ability to recognize suitable opportunities and gather the technical information required for assessment.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and progressing opportunities from initial contact to purchase order.
- Ability to work independently, organize priorities, and maintain consistent prospecting activity.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and basic office software.
- Availability for customer visits, primarily within Ontario.
- Technical education or relevant hands-on industrial experience is an asset.
Compensation and Support
This is an independent representative opportunity compensated entirely through commission, with no base salary. Commission percentages, calculation methods, and payment terms will be discussed with qualified applicants and documented in the representative agreement.
Luftstrom will provide access to capability information, marketing materials, and internal technical and quoting support to help assess opportunities and develop customer proposals.
