Original job description
About the Company
Lumi AI is a fast growing venture-backed startup redefining how enterprises interact with their data. Our agentic analytics platform connects to ERPs and data warehouses, automatically builds the context layer, and proactively surfaces multi-million dollar opportunities across sales, procurement, and supply chain.
We work with Fortune 500 and global enterprise clients running mission-critical operations on SAP, Oracle, Snowflake, and Databricks. They trust Lumi to find the insights their analyst teams miss.
Lumi AI was founded by leaders from the data, AI, and tech industry and backed by top investors from Silicon Valley, New York, Abu Dhabi, and around the world. We believe in innovation, fun, a strong work culture, and building a world-class team. At Lumi, we are continually pushing the boundaries of what's possible to better serve our clients and revolutionize the tech landscape.
About the Role
This is a forward-deployed role. You will sit on the ground with our enterprise clients, embed into their data environment, and turn their raw ERP and warehouse data into business outcomes they can measure in dollars.
You will not be writing tickets and throwing them over the wall. You will own the client relationship end to end: scoping the use cases, building the context layer, writing the prompts and SQL, training their teams, and feeding what you learn back into the product. You will work directly with our CEO and the founding team.
If you want to be the person clients call when something breaks or when they want to unlock the next use case, this role is for you.
Role Responsibilities
Lead client onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition and integration of our AI analytics platform into their operations.
Reverse-engineer their data model (SAP, Oracle, Databricks, Snowflake) and build the context layer that makes Lumi work for their business.
Utilize advanced prompting techniques to extract meaningful insights from raw data, enabling clients to make data-driven decisions swiftly.
Contribute to evolving our Value Engineering playbooks
Run training sessions and executive demos. Make non-technical business users dangerous with Lumi.
Be the voice of the customer inside Lumi. Feed product, engineering, and design what you see in the field.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
3+ years in a client-facing technical role: Data Scientist, Analytics Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or top-tier consulting (MBB, Big 4 advisory, boutique data consulting).
Hands-on experience extracting insights from operational ERPs (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) is a strong plus.
Track record of building data models, defining semantic layers, and shipping self-service analytics.
Strong SQL and Python. Comfort with LLMs, prompt engineering, or building custom GPTs is a plus.
You can walk into a CFO's office, explain a margin leakage analysis, and walk out with a follow-up meeting.
High agency. You figure it out. You don't wait to be told what to do.
You want to be in the room where the work happens, not behind a Jira board.
Why Lumi?
At Lumi AI, we truly believe in the power of a world-class team. We understand the value of collaboration, the thrill of innovation, and the satisfaction that comes from creating something truly groundbreaking.
As a core member of the Value Engineering team, you will work on real enterprise problems with real revenue impact, alongside a small team of operators who have built and sold data products at scale to major F500 enterprises. No bloated process. No politics. Direct access to the CEO and the founding team from day one.
Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and an unlimited time off policy. The work is hard, the clients are demanding, and the upside is real.
