This position offers the opportunity to serve as a technical lead on electrical engineering projects focused on power generation facilities, developing engineering solutions that support the modernization, reliability, and long-term operation of critical energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support multidisciplinary project teams as a technical specialist or project engineer.
- Develop electrical engineering design packages for power generation and industrial facilities.
- Prepare and review:
- One-line and three-line diagrams
- Motor control and breaker schematics
- Wiring and interconnection diagrams
- Cable sizing calculations and cable schedules
- Load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, motor starting, battery sizing, and protective relay studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar software
- Equipment layouts and installation drawings
- Develop equipment specifications and bills of materials for procurement and construction.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, project stakeholders, and construction teams.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and support project execution.
- Utilize engineering design and document management tools such as AutoCAD, ProjectWise, ETAP, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Ideal Background
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within power generation, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, utilities, or other large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Experience performing power system studies, electrical design calculations, and preparation of construction deliverables.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, protection and control, and power system analysis.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario preferred.
- Prior experience supporting nuclear facilities is advantageous, though candidates with conventional power generation, industrial plant, or utility backgrounds may also be considered.
