Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to oversee the construction of a three-storey wood-frame residential building. This is a new, project-specific position responsible for providing hands-on leadership and coordination throughout the construction process, from site mobilization through to project completion.
The Construction Site Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating trades, subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the project management team, consultants and contractors to monitor progress, address site issues and keep the project on track.
This is a 9 – 12-month contract position aligned with the anticipated construction timeline. The project site is located in Barrie, Ontario, and the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities on site throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all construction activities on the project.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and inspections.
- Monitor schedules, budgets, quality, and safety performance.
- Maintain site reports and project documentation.
- Review drawings and specifications.
- Complete quantity take-offs and prepare project estimates.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor quotations.
- Assist with procurement, budgeting, and change order pricing.
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- 7+ years of residential construction site supervision experience.
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
- Proven experience with both precast concrete and wood-frame residential construction.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and cost control.
- Ability to estimate and budget projects utilizing different structural systems.
- Proficient with construction management and estimating software.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and reliable transportation.
