Role Description The CRÉATEUR·RICE / CONSTRUCTEUR·RICE EN ATELIER is a full-time, on-site role based in Longueuil, QC. In this position, the team member designs, prototypes, and constructs physical pieces using various materials, tools, and techniques. Daily tasks include interpreting creative briefs, sketching concepts, selecting appropriate materials, and assembling components with precision and care. The role involves collaborating with other workshop staff, maintaining a safe and organized workspace, and ensuring that finished pieces meet quality and design standards. The person in this role may also assist with minor repairs, adjustments, and refinements to existing creations, while meeting production timelines and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Hands-on workshop skills, including basic construction techniques, material handling, and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Creative design abilities, such as concept development, sketching or drafting, and translating ideas into tangible objects.
- Attention to detail and quality control, with experience in measuring, fitting, finishing, and inspecting completed pieces.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to plan tasks, follow project schedules, and meet deadlines in a busy workshop environment.
- Collaborative communication skills to work effectively with team members, share ideas, and respond constructively to feedback.
- Ability to work on-site in Longueuil, QC, with readiness for physical tasks, standing for extended periods, and lifting moderate weights.
- Previous experience in an artistic workshop, fabrication studio, carpentry, set-building, or similar environment is an asset.
- Basic understanding of safety standards and willingness to follow health and safety procedures at all times.
