Role Description The MHCA WorkSafely Training Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB, responsible for coordinating safety and training programs for heavy construction industry participants. This role involves scheduling and organizing training sessions, managing participant registrations, maintaining training records, and preparing instructional materials. The coordinator works closely with trainers and industry partners to ensure course content meets regulatory, industry, and MHCA standards, and supports the continuous improvement of WorkSafely programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with employers and learners, providing program information and guidance, supporting classroom logistics, and assisting with reporting and evaluation of training outcomes. The role contributes to promoting a strong safety culture across the industry through consistent, high-quality training support.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Training Coordination and Training & Development, including organizing courses, managing schedules, and supporting program delivery.
- Candidates should possess skills in Training and Employee Training, with experience delivering or supporting structured training sessions and safety-related learning.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to interact effectively with employers, workers, and instructors.
- Relevant experience in health and safety, adult education, or workforce training within construction or industrial environments is beneficial.
- Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety, education, human resources, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency with standard office software and learning management tools are preferred.
- Knowledge of Manitoba workplace safety regulations and familiarity with heavy construction industry practices is an advantage.
