Volunteer Vetting Assistant 🐾
Manitoba Mutts is looking for a reliable, organized and compassionate Volunteer Vetting Assistant to join our Vetting Team. This role helps coordinate veterinary care for animals in our rescue and serves as an important point of contact for foster families, veterinary clinics and recent adopters.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for foster families, veterinary clinics and recent adopters regarding medical questions and concerns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to animal health, medications, surgeries and Super Troopers
- Coordinate veterinary appointments with our partner clinics and their teams
- Follow up on treatment plans and ensure required medical information and exam notes are documented
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Vetting Team to support the ongoing care of animals in the rescue
What We’re Looking For
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Ability to understand and communicate medical and technical information
- General knowledge of animal health or veterinary care is an asset, but not required
- Quick learner who is comfortable working across multiple platforms
- Proficiency with email, Google Docs and online databases
Time Commitment
Approximately 15–20 hours per week. This is a shared role within the Vetting Team and offers a flexible combination of daytime and evening hours.
