Full-Time | Downtown Montreal
Salary: $60,000–$70,000/year + company vehicle
About Us
Espaces Properties is a Montreal-based real estate ownership and management company overseeing a growing portfolio of hospitality, residential and commercial properties.
Our portfolio includes short-term rental properties such as Maison François-Denis and Hotel Apart Prince Arthur, long-term residential properties, commercial spaces, and our signature property, Manoir Emery, a five-star boutique hotel.
We are an entrepreneurial, hands-on and ambitious company with significant plans for growth. We operate in a fast-moving environment where technology, real estate, hospitality and property operations overlap.
We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to join a growing company, work directly alongside ownership and take on increasing responsibility as the company and portfolio expand.
The position is based out of our head office in Downtown Montreal.
The Role
We are looking for a reliable, highly organized and proactive individual to become a key right hand to ownership.
This is a role with significant autonomy and direct exposure to all aspects of operating and growing a real estate portfolio. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, thinks logically, is comfortable with technology, anticipates problems and follows through without requiring constant direction.
The position combines property operations, systems and technology, contractor coordination and administrative organization. No two days are necessarily the same, and the right person should be comfortable moving between these different responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of multiple properties.
- Ensure properties are consistently maintained to a high standard of functionality, presentation and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular property inspections and oversee preventive maintenance, building systems and recurring service schedules.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers and repairs from initial issue through completion, ensuring proper follow-up.
- Troubleshoot real-time operational issues, determine practical solutions and coordinate with our on-site property support employee when hands-on assistance is required.
- Help manage and troubleshoot the various technology and systems used across the portfolio, including property-management platforms, online listings, integrations, access-control systems, cameras and other operational technology.
- Coordinate with external technology providers and vendors when more specialized support is required.
- Provide administrative support to ownership, including organization, documentation, scheduling and follow-ups.
- Help improve systems, processes and workflows as the company and portfolio continue to grow.
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, organized and accountable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through.
- Proactive and solution-oriented - someone who anticipates issues rather than simply reacting to them.
- Strong judgment and a thoughtful, logical approach to problem-solving, including under pressure.
- Strong technical aptitude and systems fluency. You do not need to be an IT specialist, but you should be naturally comfortable with technology and capable of independently learning, investigating and troubleshooting everyday technical and systems-related issues.
- Comfortable learning new software and figuring out unfamiliar platforms without requiring extensive instruction.
- Ambitious and entrepreneurial, with an interest in taking on increasing responsibility as the company grows.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change and where initiative is highly valued.
- Able to work independently while communicating clearly with ownership, employees, contractors, tenants and outside vendors.
Assets / Nice to Have
The following are not requirements, but would be considered strong assets:
- Experience in property management, hospitality or real estate operations.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Guesty, Mews, Airbnb or other property-management/OTA systems.
- Experience with websites/CMS platforms, software integrations, online listings or similar digital systems.
- Familiarity with access control, security cameras, networking, smart-building technology or other property/hospitality technology.
- General understanding of construction, building systems and maintenance, including experience coordinating contractors and trades.
Compensation & Benefits
$60,000–$70,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
In addition, the position includes a company vehicle, with vehicle payments and gas covered by the company.
Additional benefits include:
- Flexible schedule
- Paid time off
More importantly, we see this as a growth position rather than a fixed role. As the company expands, there is significant opportunity for the right person to take on greater responsibility, participate in new acquisitions and projects, and grow into a more senior position within the organization.
Nature of the Role
This is not a purely desk-based administrative position, nor is it primarily a maintenance position.
It is a coordination, management, systems and problem-solving role for someone comfortable moving between the office, properties, contractors, tenants and technology.
The right person will become a trusted right hand to ownership - someone who doesn't simply report problems, but takes ownership of them, investigates solutions and ensures they are properly resolved.
For someone who is resourceful, technologically comfortable and motivated by responsibility and growth, the position offers significant exposure to the operation and expansion of a diversified real estate and hospitality portfolio.
