The hourly wage rate for this position is $20. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for preparing and serving specialty coffee, espresso beverages, food items, and alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional customer service. You will help create a welcoming cafe experience while supporting the successful execution of events hosted at the venue. As a Barista, you will:
- Welcome customers and guests by understanding their needs and providing exceptional service
- Educate customers on menu offerings and make recommendations based on their preferences
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, seasonal menu items, and alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes, service standards, and applicable regulations
- Support a variety of on-site events, including corporate meetings, private functions, weddings, and galas through event setup, beverage service, food service, and guest assistance
- Assist with event operations by ensuring service stations are stocked, organized, and presentation-ready
- Maintain cafe inventory by monitoring stock levels, replenishing supplies, rotating products, and assisting with inventory counts and ordering
- Maintain coffee and bar equipment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency
- Follow food safety, liquor service, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting cafe and event space
About you:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Previous Barista, café, hospitality, restaurant, or event service experience is an asset
- Smart Serve certification or the ability to obtain certification is considered an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently when required
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform the physical duties required of the position
