Role Description The General Dentist will provide comprehensive dental care, including examinations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and delivery of restorative, preventive, and basic surgical procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine checkups, fillings, extractions, crowns, and periodontal treatments, as well as reviewing diagnostic images and maintaining accurate clinical records. The dentist will educate patients on oral hygiene, discuss treatment options and costs, and collaborate with hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth patient experience. This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC, with a mix of in-clinic care and some work-from-home tasks such as chart reviews, treatment planning, and teleconsultations where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Valid DDS/DMD degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for licensure as a General Dentist in British Columbia.
- Proficiency in core general dentistry procedures, including examinations, restorative care, simple extractions, endodontics for uncomplicated cases, and periodontal treatment.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tools such as digital x-rays and intraoral images, and to develop clear, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Strong patient communication and education skills, including the ability to explain treatment options, risks, and benefits in accessible language.
- Experience working with modern dental practice software and digital record-keeping systems.
- Commitment to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary dental team and contribute to a respectful, inclusive workplace.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and stay current with advances in materials, techniques, and best practices.
- Prior experience in a general practice or community clinic setting is an asset.
