Job Title: Director, Operations, Ontario
Reports to: President
Location: Greater Toronto Area
Leads a team of District Managers to support QSR franchised and corporate stores within an assigned region. Responsible for coordination of business development efforts and initiatives within assigned region. Accountable for driving franchisee sales and profit, coaching for operational excellence, and enforcing brand standards by providing high level business consulting expertise and advice to a defined group of franchisees. Ultimately responsible to develop and achieve annual operating plans and influence franchisees/store managers to optimize their profitability, growth and customer experience and loyalty.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and offer guidance and support to franchisees in optimizing restaurant operations for both immediate and long-term progress.
- Cultivate effective professional relationships with franchisee owners and operators, and senior leaders, facilitating productive information exchange to drive performance.
- Oversee the performance and management of corporately owned stores
- Engage franchisee teams and senior leaders in data-informed discussions to establish and work towards enduring operational and service objectives.
- Formulate, garner consensus for, and execute action plans addressing critical brand standards and food safety concerns at their root.
- Aid in the assessment and communication of franchisee performance and key operational determinants/metrics.
- Facilitates learning and sharing of best practices in a wide variety of formats, including group presentations and face-to-face training.
- Ensures full brand standards compliance with all products, equipment, tools, operating systems, processes, and initiatives to promote operational excellence and superior customer experiences.
- Lead a team of District Managers to drive revenue in their assigned areas, operational excellence, and a progressive customer experience sentiment.
- Partner with Franchising Team to identify open markets, interview and approve prospective buyers, and review business plans for current owners wishing to expand their business.
- Support market expansion, develop multi-unit growth, support renewals, and transfers to ultimately strengthen the quality of franchisees in the system.
- Develop annual operating plan and budget in line with our bigger strategic objectives, prepares monthly/quarterly forecast updates both financial and development.
- Review and summarizes business data for senior management report and discussion
- Other duties, as assigned.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required
- 5+ years of deep operations experience in QSR, retail, food & beverage, or similar industry. - Multi-unit franchise operations experience preferred.
- Strength in building and developing relationships with clients, colleagues, business partners
- Experience in project management, leadership, budgets, profit & loss, employee supervision, customer service, and conflict resolution required.
- Ability to present operational information both orally and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed for business unit
- Possesses an overwhelming sense for “Exceptional Customer Service
