Role Description The Junior Health and Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Sudbury, ON Light travel required. This role supports the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental programs in line with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Daily responsibilities include assisting with site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments, as well as documenting findings and following up on corrective actions. The coordinator helps maintain safety records, incident reports, and training documentation, and supports the development and delivery of safety orientations and toolbox talks. The role also involves collaborating with supervisors and workers to promote a strong safety culture, participating in incident investigations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in health and safety practices.

- Candidates should possess skills in hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident reporting to support safe site operations.
- Candidates should possess skills in health and safety program implementation, compliance monitoring, and safety auditing aligned with regulatory and company standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in documentation management, data entry, and maintaining accurate records for inspections, training, and incidents.
- Candidates should possess skills in communication, coaching, and delivering safety briefings or toolbox talks to diverse teams.
- Candidates should possess skills in basic problem-solving, critical thinking, and using MS Office or similar tools to prepare reports.
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian health and safety legislation and regulations, particularly in mining or industrial environments, is an asset.
- Previous experience or co-op placement in a safety-related role within mining, construction, or heavy industry is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site at active industrial or mining locations as required.
